Alice Gehrke

Hi, my name is Alice Gehrke (she/her), and I am thrilled to be able to help you find meaning, belonging, and joy in your life! As a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), my biggest passion is supporting individuals and families through their unique journeys with warmth, authenticity, and creativity.

I believe in blending humor, play, and real connections to help my clients achieve their goals, and I use a mix of approaches to help you unlock your potential. Most importantly, I know that there's no "one size fits all" approach, which is why I take the time to truly get to know each of my clients and work collaboratively with them to support their well-being.

I work with people across all ages, backgrounds, and identities, with a special focus on helping those who have experienced complex trauma and attachment wounds. Alongside this work, I'm also passionate about helping individuals explore their identities, and supporting parents and caregivers as they navigate caring for others while still showing themselves the same kindness. My work with families has shown me that involving the whole family in therapy not only strengthens communication and connection, but also ensures that everyone feels included and valued in the treatment process.

I have been so grateful to work with people from all walks of life, including preschool-aged children up to older adults, and families from many different communities. I recently had the opportunity to work at the Virginia Frank Child Development Center, where I provided therapy to caregivers and families. Today, I continue to work as a mental health consultant for Headstart classrooms in the area. I’ve also worked with LGBTQ+ young people and adults, veterans, people impacted by the justice system, and with the Othodox Jewish community.

My education is in both psychology and theater performance, and I've also worked in early childhood education. I completed my Masters of Social Work with specialization in Mental Health from the Jane Addams School of Social Work at the University of Illinois - Chicago.

If you think I could support you in achieving your goals and living your best life, then please know I am here for you.
